1800 ROADSTER

The 1800 Roadster has a large group of loyal enthusiasts. That is easy to understand: the model is special if not quirky. Moreover, the period, from 1946 until 1948, in which the car was marketed, just after WWII, is an interesting period in the history of the automotive industry. The television series “Bergerac”, in which the detective drove an 1800 Roadster, made the car very recognisable to the general public. The car we have for sale, VIN TRD1249, was restored in the late 1970s. The owner of the car, a collector, never used the car after its completion and stored it in full anonymity. Nearly 40 years after this restoration, the by then somewhat neglected car finally saw daylight again. In spite of the long standstill period of this “barn find”, the mechanicals appeared to be in perfect state. It took little effort to get the engine to start and it now runs like a charm. And so does the gearbox, which switches gears with great exactness, and without noise. The car’s interior and exterior were cleaned by us but otherwise left alone.
